Wicker Baskets
Wicker is hard woven fiber formed into a useful object. Wicker is usually used for baskets or furniture. Wicker is made of material of plant origin, but nowadays plastic fibers are also used.
Materials used can be any part of a plant, such as the cores or canes of rattan stalks, or the whole thickness, as with willow switches. Other popular materials include reed and bamboo.

While this looks good, it's not very functional. It only works with a very small and lightweight hose as the product itself is too light to handle a heavier hose. I've just now purchased my fourth of these hose holders. I use one by the pool, and another for each outdoor spigot. Contrary to what that one-star reviewer claimed, the basket _does_ hold 75 feet of hose -- I know this because that's what I store in three of the four baskets I've bought. These baskets are woven from a plastic resin -- they look just as nice as traditional baskets but stand up to outdoor use much better (much sturdier). The baskets encourage whoever is using the hose to put it back when they're done (which is easy to do), and this saves us losing hoses to the lawnmower. And when summer is over, just detach the hose from the spigot and store the hose in its basket in the basement. No more tripping over hoses that are all over the place. They're easier to use and to store this way. I like the look and quality of this product but it definitely is on the small side. I guess I was expecting it to be larger. I can't complain about the quality or the look though since both are exceptional. The bottm of the pot is open for easy drainage and there is a hole in the back for the hose, to answer questions posted by others. The only complaint I have is that I would prefer it to be a little bigger. I have a pretty heavy hose and it was hard to stuff it in. Should be no problem for thin flexible hoses. Average Rating:  |

After looking at a few department stores and seeing the high prices - for a trashcan? - I found this basket on Amazon and took a chance on it being the basket as described. Well, it is! It is very well constructed, tightly woven, and fairly heavy/substantial for being a basket! It will last for many years, for sure. Buy this and you won't be disappointed if you want a nice woven waste basket. This is a quality product, shipped from a good company. I ordered one for my small living room and re-modeling, and ended up ordering two more - one for a new 1/2 bath and one for the spare bedroom. Not a cheap, junky trashcan. Very nice!! This, together with the coordinating magazine rack, really looks great in the bathroom I redecorated for my son. These items are very well made, and I far prefer the "chunky" look as compared to wicker or rattan! This is a very sturdy, heavy wastebasket that fits just fine in my living room.
